PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. – This week’s top shot brings us an inspiring glimpse into the heart of Marine Corps recruit training. Captured by Lance Cpl. Jacob B. Hutchinson, the image features recruits from Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, as they charge over the parallel bars during a physically demanding obstacle course event.

Known simply as the O-course, this challenging series of obstacles is a cornerstone of Marine Corps training. Recruits are pushed to their limits as they climb, leap, crawl, and swing through each structure—testing and building their strength, agility, endurance, and confidence, all of which are essential traits of every United States Marine.
